The Journal of Public Health in Nepal is an academic journal dedicated to epidemiological research in Nepal and its surrounding areas. This magazine mainly publishes research results on infectious diseases, non communicable diseases, environmental health, occupational health, injury epidemiology, as well as health policies and practices. The magazine covers epidemiological issues unique to Nepal, such as dengue fever, malaria, visceral leishmaniasis, and their epidemic characteristics, transmission routes, and prevention and control strategies in Nepal. For example, the dengue fever epidemic in Nepal has been affected by land use transition and climate change, with a trend of spreading from low altitude tropical regions to high-altitude temperate regions. In addition, epidemiological, serological, and entomological investigations of visceral leishmaniasis in Nepal have revealed focal transmission of the disease in the new outbreak area.
