The purpose of the magazine is to comprehensively promote the policies and guidelines of the Party and the government on developing the elderly care industry, reflecting the theoretical research and practical achievements in the fields of elderly society, elderly culture, elderly economy, and elderly industry. It aims to provide scientific basis for the formulation of aging policies by the country and government, theoretical support for various levels of government and policy-making departments, and an academic exchange platform for people from all walks of life engaged in aging theory research and practice.

The journal "Research on Aging Science" has rich content, covering multiple columns such as theoretical frontiers, aging policies, aging economy, aging society, aging culture, aging psychology, aging health, aging statistics, aging technology, overseas aging, etc. It targets a wide range of readers, including government and policy-making departments, aging theory researchers, various levels and types of aging work organizations, personnel from enterprises and service institutions related to aging, as well as scientific researchers who are interested in exploring and researching population aging and elderly issues.
