Depositional Record is an academic journal dedicated to sedimentology and, with its fully open access nature, provides a platform for researchers worldwide to present and share research results. This journal pays special attention to the publication of high-quality original articles covering not only the traditional areas of sedimentology, such as sediment generation, transport and deposition processes, but also the application of sedimentary processes to paleoclimatic studies, chemical environmental changes, ocean acidification, extraterrestrial sedimentology, etc.

The journal especially welcomes research articles that shed light on the Earth's history and environmental changes through sedimentary records. These studies not only contribute to our understanding of Earth's past, but also provide an important scientific basis for predicting and responding to environmental challenges in the future. In addition, the journal encourages the application of modern genetic methods to understand sedimentary processes, which can provide new perspectives and tools for sedimentological research.
