The American Journal Of Orthopsychiatry is a professional journal focused on mental health issues and related practices in corrective Settings. The journal is committed to publishing high quality research articles, reviews, case studies and policy analysis aimed at improving the understanding and management of mental health issues in correctional Settings. Articles published in the journal not only seek to clarify the existing body of knowledge, but also aim to challenge conventional wisdom and promote new perspectives and in-depth thinking about the field of corrective psychiatry. These articles may explore the root causes of injustice, ethical issues in the correction process, and how psychiatric interventions can promote more just and humane correction practices.

The journal focuses specifically on preventive measures, emphasizing the importance of early identification and intervention for mental health problems that may occur in corrective Settings. At the same time, it also focuses on corrective measures, namely how psychiatric interventions can improve the mental health of prisoners, reduce recidivism rates, and facilitate their reintegration into society.
